A former stable, this Grade II listed barn was an oak framed shell with cladding in need of repair. As lead consultant, we obtained Listed Building and planning consent for the extension and change of use into a single residential dwelling. The main barn has an independent mezzanine structure sitting within the original oak frame to maintain the integrity of the original building. The extension, separated from the original structure by a glazed link, has semi-basement accommodation to make best use of the space afforded by the building envelope. This creative conversion provides a new lease of life to this oak framed structure and secures it’s integrity for many years to come.
