Our client obtained this former pub that had remained vacant since 2012 and engaged HAP Architects for services from feasibility through to full planning for a replacement building. The brief for the new building was to provide a nurturing and engaging environment for people with care needs, primarily those that had suffered brain injuries. Sitting within the Metropolitan Greenbelt and AONB, the building vernacular needed to reflect its open and isolated position within the landscape. The curved green roof mimics the rolling Chiltern hills and the natural materials used seek to blend with nature.
